At Royal London Asset Management, we invest with a long-term view. Our aim is to deliver good financial outcomes for clients while acting as responsible stewards of their capital.

Our 2025 Stewardship and Responsible Investment Report shows how we look beyond short-term financial numbers, considering environmental, social and governance factors alongside financial analysis to better understand the risks and opportunities that can influence long term value.

Being a responsible investor also means using our influence where it matters. Through engagement, voting and advocacy, we seek to encourage better corporate practices and higher standards across the market, recognising that each fund has a different objective and uses these tools in different ways.

Using our influence

Being a responsible investor also means using our influence where it matters. Through engagement, voting and advocacy, we seek to encourage better corporate practices and higher standards across the market, recognising that each fund uses these tools in line with its objectives.

In 2025, this meant:

356

Engagements with companies

4,397

Casting votes

53,314

Voting on resolutions

Our Stewardship and Responsible Investment Report 2025 demonstrates how this approach works in practice - looking beyond short‑term numbers and considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors alongside financial analysis to better understand long‑term risks and opportunities.

We believe that being a responsible investor is about:

  • Looking at more than financial numbers like profits, cash flow or debt.
  • Considering ESG alongside financial analysis to help us understand the broader risks and opportunities that could influence long‑term value for our clients.
  • Considering how a company treats people, manages environmental impacts, and is governed. We believe well managed companies make better investments.

For over two decades, we have been developing our approach to stewardship and responsible investment. We have worked on integrating ESG into our traditional financial analysis and assessing how these may affect investment performance. Because every fund or strategy has a different objective, our stewardship and responsible investment approach is considered by the investment teams in different ways. You should check the product documentation for details.

Royal London Asset Management engages with companies as part of its responsible investment and stewardship strategy, aiming to drive long-term value for clients while promoting sustainable business practices.

Our voting, engagement and advocacy activities are designed to be pragmatic, informed by research, evolving market insights and local best practices, and aligned with the long-term interests of our clients. These activities aim to enhance the value and integrity of our investment decisions.

Please note that voting and engagement practices may not apply uniformly across all Royal London Asset Management funds or strategies, as each have distinct investment objectives. Please refer to the investment documents for specific details.
