Royal London Asset Management launches €434m inaugural Hambridge Collateralised Loan Obligation

1st October 2025

Royal London Asset Management has successfully launched and priced the inaugural €434 million Hambridge collateralised loan obligation (CLO).

This marks the firm’s entry into this attractive asset class which broadens its suite of credit investment strategies and meets the growing demand for diversified income solutions.

The success has been bolstered by the equity commitment of Royal London Group and through the support of a diversified group of investors in the CLO debt. As a result of the trust that equity and debt investors have placed in its CLO program, Hambridge CLO I successfully priced at competitive levels on 17 September 2025. Plans are already under way for the launch of CLO II, underscoring Royal London Asset Management’s commitment to offering clients innovative ways to generate income and manage risk. The CLO program is managed by Khuram Sharih and Sebastien Poulin.

Will Nicoll, Chief Investment Officer, Royal London asset Management said:

“Launching the first Hambridge CLO is an important milestone. It demonstrates the depth of our credit platform and enables us to deliver new opportunities for clients seeking resilient sources of income in a higher-for-longer interest rate environment.”

The CLO market continues to grow in Europe with issuance volumes in 2025 exceeding expectations. Royal London Asset Management’s entry signals its intent to expand in this area and build long-term solutions for institutional clients.
