RLAM appoints head of strategy

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) announces the appointment of Gemma Cowie as Head of Strategy.

Gemma joins from Neuberger Berman, where she was Head of Product for the EMEA and Latin American regions. Her previous roles include working for Aviva Investors as Global Head of Product and covering a range of product and investment related positions at Henderson Global Investors and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Gemma takes on this newly created role this week and reports into Rob Williams, Chief Distribution Officer at RLAM. In line with RLAM’s record growth and to drive its future ambitions, Gemma will lead on future product and business strategy.  She will also expand RLAM’s product strategy and insight capability.

RLAM’s distribution team has seen a real evolution since the hires of John Burke as head of institutional in 2015 and of Phil Reid as head of wholesale in 2016 and the growth of both their teams. In the past five years RLAM has grown exponentially, and assets under management have increased from £84.5 billion to £140 billion.
